There is an increased focus on treatments to extend the healthspan. There is solid evidence
that exercise extends the healthspan, but other treatments, such as metformin and statins,
are also gaining traction. If metformin and statins will be used to prolong healthspan, we
must understand their effects in those free of disease and in combination with exercise.
